Default Arrow is awesome!!!

Had my first flights this afternoon with club instructor. I have a Hangar 9 Arrow with a OS .46 AX engine.
Set the throws down on all surfaces. Flew with buddy cord (glad I did cause I almost smacked a tree).
All we needed was a tad right trim. Instructor commented on how nice the plane flew and also, the power
of the .46 engine. We flew 4 flights. I've been flying electric for 3 years so I'm no stranger to flying but,
this plane has 10 times the power of even my 05 brushless Alienator. The Arrow will do all kinds of aerobatics
as the instructor put it through the paces. I just flew on 1/2 to 3/4 throttle doing figure 8's etc. Didn't try any
loops or rolls with it. I won't until I can safely land the thing and get more used to the power. Also flew my FMA Razor
and my ducted fan flying wing. Had a great time! More fun flying with others than by yourself. Which is what I've done
for the last 3 years. Can't wait to take the Arrow back up again!!! Wish I woulda done this years ago!

The arrow looks like a great plane. plus i think it has viryally no dihedral so doing rools and going inverted should be no problem for you if i could do it with the alpha.

Have Fun!

Your correct righty. The Arrow has little dihedral. Made for some nice aerobatics. It has a semi symmetrical wing also.
This plane will not right itself if you bank a turn like other trainers. Of course, its kind of an advanced trainer in that you
have to "fly" the wing instead the plane flying itself. It had very good performance with the .46 OS AX engine. I took the Evolution training prop off and stuck on a 11x6. The plane took off in about 20 feet. Landings are nice and slow.

How big an area do you think the Arrow needs to fly in? What kind of flight times are you getting with it? Thanks.

RC4,
As with ANY glow plane, you'll need at least 10 to 20 acres with NO houses, roads, kids or small animals within that space.

Dave,
Congrats on getting involved with the "dark side" of the hobby. I fly electrics too on occasion, but there's just nothing like the power and agility of glow or gas.

Now I really cant wait to get my plane in the air, I have the arrow, got the kit that came with everything so I still have all the original stuff on it, the guy at the hobbyshop put a 2 blade prop on it but after talkin to others on here I put the 3 blade back on for my first couple of flights which havent happened yet, but Im glad to hear I'll be able to stick with this plane for a while after I get the basics down and not have to get a new plane to do things a trainer is limited to, of course its still a trainer, but think I'll be able to hold onto it a while after I get the basics down.
