Default Can it be done???

Question....at our club, some of the guys fly control line. Thats okay and fine. One guy had a Nobler that was painted or covered in the Navy color of dark blue and had all the US Navy markings. I thought the model looked really sharp! My question is.....is it possible to buy
the control line kit but make it RC instead? It'd be nice for a 30 size engine or so......

There is an RC kit version of the Nobler available from Top Flight, I thought?

Beyond that, yes, you can convert CL designs to RC. Obviously you have to add ailerons and/or a rudder and maybe adjust dihedral to be sure to have enough stability and control. And you might have to enlarge the vertical stab, some CL designs have very little vertical stab area.

The airplane you saw is the new Top Flite Controline ARF Nobler. If you really want one for RC you don,t have to convert one as the Top Flite RC ARF Nobler is already out there.

To answer your question lots of Controlline to RC conversions have been done however my preferance is the other way around and I have done a number of RC to Controlline conversions.[8D]

Give a thought to trying Ukie a form of model flight like no other and there is nothing like a real life airplane pulling hard in your hand giving real life feedback like RC could never do.

Dennis I never have to worry about getting dizzy and falling down, I just spin around in my wheelchair.

The present-day RC Nobler kit is quite a different airplane from the CL Nobler. At one time, many years ago, TopFlite had an RC kit which was much closer to the CL airplane. The Nobler was designed and won CL stunt at the Nats over 50 years ago. Still a pretty good airplane.
