Hello and thanks for all of the input.
I have a beginner question. On the Hobbico flight box there is a dial that says Glow plug heat exactly what do you use that for. Inclosed is a photo.

I know it's a dumb question and I apologize for that. Why would you need to regulate the temp? I have just been using the glow sticks.

To be honest you will have no problem if you just leave it set high i.e 4-5 amps as the sticks you have been using are natrually high amp and you will have problems starting below 3 normally.

My Feedback: (4)
And technically that's called a "Power Panel", and it gets mounted on your "Flight Box".
And the thing that you connect to the glow plug isn't called a "Glow Starter", it's called a "Glow Plug Igniter".
Sorry, I'm being rude but I couldn't help it. Especially seeing as how you already had the answer you needed.

It's okay,
Believe it or not I didn't know that it was called a Glow plug Igniter. That was new to me, Power panel and Flight box I already knew.
As far as you being rude, This site is constructed for freedom of expression so I can't get upset about that. Actually, I'm quite use to negative comments on here. Most of the members here are positive and they do provide the information that you want I salute those folks and hopefully I can be in a position to help them down the road......In fact I probably will.

I gotta laugh because after I put my field box together, I was at the club field fueling the plane. Attached bananas to the power panel
and tried to start the engine. The OS .46 usually fires right up. It didn't this time. Reason, I left the heat knob on the power panel set at 0. As soon as I turned up the heat to 3.5 -4.0 amps, engine fired.

the easiest way to know when the glow plug ignighter is hot enough is to attach it to your glow pulg then turn up the power on the panel till it is in the green area.

For the record, Dennis, you are about the least "negative" person around here. You are always very helpful and generally very patient and polite.
