R/C Flying fields in MN?

There are two clubs pretty close to you. The Tri-Valley RC club is in Rosemount on East County Road 42. Their website is http://trivalley.rcclubs.com. They have a single paved runway on land they rent from the U of M. I visited their site several times before I joined my present club. If you visit on a weekend day, you will usually find someone there.
I joined the Twin City Radio Controllers. Our website is www.tcrconline.com. Our field is just off of 169 in Jordan. We own the land and have intersecting paved runways.
I live in Bloomington, so each field was about a 25-30 minute drive for me. I ended up choosing TCRC because it seemed like a little more laid back, family friendly environment. The field is never very crowded and the people are really nice. They also have monthly club meetings all year, where we get together, have an educational program and show off our projects.
I am a beginner and found a lot of people willing to help me out. I actually had three different people provide me with instruction. I'm sure I probably would have had similar help had I joined Tri-Valley.
You should come to our Model Aviation Day open house on Aug. 14 from 12-3. Details are on the website. My understanding is that we will have instructors as well as flight sims there for people to give it a try. Feel free to send me a PM if you would like.
I think there is also a field in the Northfield area, but I don't know a whole lot about that.
[Edit] I forgot to mention the Minnesota Valley Club in Shakopee. I don't know much about them. Their field is near ValleyFair and I think they are in the process of losing it to development. I may be wrong though.
