Hi,
I moved to the USA around 2 years ago from Scotland where I was a reasonably accomplished flier (Silver level qualification in SAA) . I was flying a 1/4 scale Cap 232 just before leaving so do not really qualify as a beginner.... however I know live in the NY Metro area and am looking for 3 things
1) A good club in the area (or not to far a drive) which caters for the sports flier.
2) A good local model shop
3) An ARTF or RTF model, transmitter, engine combo (ohh for my cap , 388s and super tigre......)
Any ideas as to where to start looking ?
Thanks
Tony

Tony,
Where in the area are you? I am in North NJ. Knowing this will help as the Metro area is quite large.
You should also get an AMA card from http://modelaircraft.org/templates/ama/
They are the main governing body of RC in the USA, and you will need a membership card to fly at most clubs.
www.brucknerhobbies.com has 3 stores in the area. Try them out since their prices are great.
