Default At-6 for 3rd plane?

As you all may know i recently soloed and am still playing with my trainer.when im finally done with my trainer in a few weeks or months I have a UCANDO I got for graduation for my second plane(don't worry many club members say I can use it) and I was thinking of maybe the hanger 9 at-6 texan as my 3rd plane? how does it sound? Planning on putting a saito 100 in it.

Thinking is fine, touching is a no-no, until you have a healthy handfull of experience in high-wing-loading models (3rd model might be OK). Unless of course you have lots of time & $$ to keep replacing it.

I have no idea how Righty could have missed the line "I recently soloed," but I think that you will have no problem with that plane. I could have even been your second plane. Since you are low time, maybe get your instructor to buddy-box with you when you get it just for one flight. Make sure to do at least a few landings on the box before you cut your instructor loose. You should have no problem.

I have a couple solo flight now. I have had my hands on a couple of other planes including a DG tiger with fs 91 (really nice flying model) I fly a slowstick daily, and flew a Tower trainer (taildragger) with a completely flat wing. PLUS I'm planning on flying for a couple more Months on the trainer... Then on to master My SECOND plane... Then the texan... Do you guys think It could be my third plane?

Why do you even care what I bunch of people think who have absolutely no way of judging your present skill level much less make predictions on whether you will be skilled enough in a few months.

Just keep flying and I'll bet your buddies will tell you when its time to trade up

If you think you can young Jedi then you can!!! Those who think they can't will not! My second plane was a 540 edge... Put it on the buddy box with your instructor... Land it with some speed and you will be fine... Don't try to float it in like a trainer. AT-6 easiest of warbirds to fly it was a trainer. Listen to the instructor at your club he knows your skills better then anyone. If he says you are ready then go for it. It's only money... LOL

I started last yr and now fly 2 Gee Bees / DR-1 Fokker / WACO Biplane / 540 Edge / Stuka Thats my own stuff. I've flow just about anything you can think of.. out there.
