hi, i have'nt entered the sport of rc aeroplanes yet but while i was researching it i came across 2 things, 1st, certificates what are these, are they like driving license? 2nd insurance what is that? i know what insurance is but how does it work on rc planes and last of all, what happens when you trim a plane? any feedback would be great.

Some clubs over here require that you pass certain levels of flying ability in front of an instructor to get permission or certificate to fly there. Our AMA offers coverage (limited) in the event of damage or injury you may cause while flying.
Trimming means you are making adjustments to surfaces while the plane is flying to get it tracking straight with hands off.

Right. In the UK there are certificates for flying competency. In the UK as in the US (and other areas of the world), liability insurance is a requirement in order to fly at organized clubs. The insurance protects you in the event that you damage someone's property with your plane, or worse, hurt someone with it.

Trimming the plane means adjusting the control surfaces while flying so that the plane flys straight and level without control inputs on the transmitter.
