Can you use a 6 channel transmitter with a 4 channel reciever?

As long as they both match as FM or PCM and Hitec or Futaba.
Are they both the same brand ?
I use a couple of Futaba Rx's with my Hitec Tx. You just can't mix Airtronics or JR with Futaba or Hitec.

yeah...

as long as it's compatiable..like futaba works with hitec.
and on the same band....am or fm
and high or low..i think low only goes up to channel 35

Yes, The Tx does not care how many channels the Rx listens to. As long as there is suffficient Rx channels (functions) to operate your aircraft.
