Default Aileron Stock

I butchered part of my ailerons on my CG Super Chimpmunk I am building.

I need another piece of aileron stock. I can't find this size at any of the local hobby stores or online.

What I measured was 1 3/4" x 1/2". Does anyone know where I can find this?

Thanks in advance.

It would probably be easier to repair the stock piece

So I take it this size isn't easily found?

Its not actually the ailerons that I screwed up. Its the part in the very center that the wing bolts go through. If It was just the ailerons I wouldn't be as concerned. But these pieces must support the load of the wing.

When I say butchered, I mean butchered, lol. They are cut wrong, sanded wrong, already been glued back together. I don't think they are reusable. I really need some more aileron stock. I hate to take a chance of scrapping the entire plane when the wing flies off because I half *****ed this section.

Is this an odd size?

You could try Balsa USA, Lonestar Balsa or Sig. They carry balsa.

Wings,

Superiorbalsa.com has 3/8"x1 1/2" aileron stock. Add a 1/4"x1/2" to the fat side, touch up the corners of the 1/4"x1/2" with a sanding block and voila. Or, glue the 1/4"x1/2" to the trailing edge first and sand to match taper of the wing. Then add the 3/8"x1 1/2" aileron stock to that.

That is not aileron stock per say, it is a custom made part. Contact Goldberg and get a replacement.
