Default Nexstar Problem maybe....

Hey all.....i have the hobbico nexstar and i have been flying it for a while....i kinda soloed on my own on the third flight still used a cord just incase but he said he didnt touch it and on my 6th flight i was completly solo and have made several successful flights and am having fun. The other day at the feild i was packin up and i noticed a 1/4 inch rip in the covering and im wondering if it will be a problem.....i dont have anything to fix it and there are no close hobby shops. The rip dont seem bad and i dont see it ripping anymore but is there something i can do to fix it or will it be ok? i think this is a great flying plane just if anyone wants to know i have only had a problem of the screws losening out of the motor mount to the firewall....one came all the way out didnt notice till i got home....but its all good now....well thanks.....steven

Quick fix would be clear packing tape. But you should get an iron and a roll of ultracote or monokote to fix it the correct way.
Also, every few flights or so check your screws and bolts on your motor mount and landing gear. These will come loose due
to the engine's vibration. My front landing gear (nose wheel) came off last nite on landing (I have a Hangar 9 Arrow) so the
plane did a nose plant. The screws used weren't very long and vibrated loose.

As stated above, just use some clear tape and you will be fine!

Ditto on the tape, the trainer is a TOOL for teaching you to fly and will take a beating.
It's appearance is unimportant just so long that it's air worthy.

Worry about the appearance of your B-17 or your T-Bolt...

Steven, I had some of the engine mount screws rattle loose on my Avistar. They were Phillips head type so I changed them to Allen head type. It's easier now to get an Allen wrench in there now and I put locktite on them. As far as the 4*, I've heard they are a super good 2nd plane so I bought a 4* 40 kit to put together this winter. I almost wish I had gotten the 60 though. But yea, they are a really nice plane.
