Hi, real newbie question here, I'm just starting to build my first plane and have never used CA before. When applying to a joint do i run a bead of CA along the whole length or just spot it every inch or so??

For thick, or medium CA just apply it along the joint in a nice even "bead" not too much or it will squeeze out, and that's just waste.
With thin CA, make sure you have very nice tight joints, put the parts together, and drop a drop or two into the joint. Capilary action will distribute it for you.

BTW, I use medium CA exclusivly. I tried thin CA, and some joints were very weak because the CA sets before it could soak into the wood. It also wants to run all over the place sometimes without following the joint of the 2 wood pieces that you are trying to join. Medium works very well and flows slower making it easy to control. Thick sets up wierd sometimes. [8D]

Just a note of caution in case you haven't heard. Make sure that you are in a well ventilated area when using the CA. The fumes are not healthy to be breathing and they sting the eyes. You can get odourless CA but its very expensive. [8D]
