Hi
I've decided to build my first kit plane. I already have a trainer so I was looking for a plane that would be easy to build yet a little more advanced then a trainer. I also have a 40La that I wanted to use on this plane. I was thinking of building the Great Planes Dazzler. But I would like some suggestions or opinions on the dazzler or some other planes that might fall into this category.
Thanks

I'll be getting a [link=http://www2.towerhobbies.com/cgi-bin/wti0001p?&I=LXFHG4&P=7]GP Rapture 40[/link] this winter to build into next summer. I think it will look pretty sweet with a tinted canopy and different covering than the picture shows. Supposed to be a nice low wing trainer and an easy build.

Hi
I forgot to mention I already have a GP supersportster 40. Basically I'm just looking for something easy to build that I can put a plain bearing 40 on and have some fun with.
Thanks

for a plain bearing 40 try a Sig Midstar 40. They work just fine on a plain bushing 40 or 45. Easy to build and fly easily. The Tiger II or the 4* 40 would also be options. Your sportster would be better with a BB 45 in it. A bushing'd 45 would fly it. But not up to it's potential. Good luck. Oh yea a Grerta Planes easy sport would probably do. I have built or have kits for the above not the Easy Sport. I hear they are fine kits.

Has anyone built one of these dazzlers and if so would it be an ok first kit to build? I'm looking for a plane to put an LA 40 on. I already have a supersportster with a pro 46 on it.
Thanks

An LA-40 works really well on a Sig LT-25. Build it with dual aileron servos and a nearly flat wing and it's pretty sporty! Balances with no added weight and is just pleasantly overpowered! Put a 11X4 APC on it and it'll do about anything you want.

My first kit build was the Sig Mid-Star and the quality of the materials and the ease of build were both good. I have an OS52 four stroke on it which has plenty of power, but does not have unlimited vertical.
I am building my second kit now, a Goldberg Tiger 60, and have been disappointed in the quality of the instructions and materials. Maybe I expect too much after the Mid-Star. I have a Great Planes Cap 232 for my next kit. The materials and instructions both look good, but I have only given them a cursory look.
I have attached a picture of my Mid-Star in case you are not familiar with it.

I recommend Sig's 1/4 scale Cub or their 1/6 scale Citabria. Current project is TopFlite's Stinson Reliant, SR-9 and thus far recommend it as well. I've had no troubles making sense of their plans and instructions.
