Hi All, first up a big thankyou to all for the wealth of knowledge posted here which has made this build great fun. So here it is, my first r/c plane an LT-40 trainer i have built from kit. The build was a breeze, applying the monokote was time consuming but relatively simple (no compound curves on this model!) and radio installation and setup all went without a hitch. All there's left to do is balance it out and go fly! Thanks again, Chris.

Hi PilgramsChamp:
Your plane looks great. You have accomplished something.
I just assembled my Hangar 9, Alpha 60 today, Sunday, went to the club field for my first flight.
My instructor flight tested the plane. All that was required was 2 clicks "up elevator."
He hooked up the buddy box and off we were. 4 minutes into the flight I suffered a mid air and totaled my fuselage and wing. My very first flight.
So, there were two very disappointed people who left the field today. It was no one's fault. That would not happen again in a
hundred years. It was his first flight of his second plane. We both felt terrible for each other.
One nice thing about this sport is that we both walked away.
I will order a new fuselage and wing tomorrow and will be at the filed on Sunday with "bells on." I wouldn't
let this change my mind about this sport for a minute. The people in this sport are the greatest.
Good luck on your maiden flight. I like your paint scheme. Is that the British jack on your vertical stabilizer? Cool!!!!!!

Thanks for the compliments!! Yes it is a union jack on the tail, i'm a brit now living in canada so it's justified
sorry to hear of your misfortune jim, i can't think how it must feel to lose it on the first day of flying it, sure youll be up and flying again in no time. At least in Tx you must be able to fly year round, i'm gonna be lucky if i get more than a couple of flights in here in Montreal before it gets too cold and snow puts an end to things till next april! (hey anyone know a snow ski mod for the LT-40
). Anyway already thinking of my next build project to see me through the winter!
Thanks all.
