Default Back on that bicycle!!!

Yup, yesterday after two years away from flying I was back in the air and man it felt great. I took my avistar out to the local club... joined up.. and one of the gentlemen out there was happy to take it up for a trim flight. After landing and checking it out... he took it up for me, handed it over and that was all she wrote. Three flights and three landings, which were very nice if I may say because they were all deadstick... now if I could just get that dang .40 la to idle I'd be a happy man. Thanks for the many words of advice/encouragement on the message boards. I plan on being around alot longer this time...

Casey

Agree on the engine. I have an LA on my avistar and it just doesn't want run good. One thing tha helped me is resetting the needle valve, and the air bleed adjustment. Anyways congratulations and Welcome Back!

Casey, I agree on changing out the LA engine. The LA on my Avistar runs very well so I guess I've been fortunate but I've heard of lots of people having problems with them. I would recommend a Thunder Tiger 46. I bought one for my 4*40 and it is awesome how well it runs and performes and for 80 bucks you can't go wrong. Easily swappable to another plane as well.

I Just got home from the field with my Super Star W/ ST .51..

I Highly Recommend this engine as it's the most sweet running/ reliable engine I own.. Believe it or not it will run for 30 min+ on an 8 oz. tank of fuel<Plenty of witnesses> And Idles Really low yet remains steady.. I finally talked a guys into buying one <A 34> for a plane of his and he loves it.. Check It out Grest engine for the money..
