Scott if you want to do deisel in a trainer which I assume you are talking about because you posted in the beginners forum, then you are in luck as there are many options now with throttled deisels and deisel conversions. Some of these would work very well in a number of smaller trainers. I would suggest you peruse the the Deisel section of the engine forum here. Also some more info about you would be helpful and just what you wanted to do. A deisel may not be a great idea if you are just starting out in that it may may limit your choice of appropriate airplanes.

What you want is a Sig rascal with a Norvel .049-.074,,,or a Ace simple series Cub...you can diesilize all the way down to an.049 but I would stay away from diesel until your more familiar with the whole hobby,,,you can get a walmart foamy glider and put a cox .049 and 2 servos on it ....now worries about crashing a $4 plane..lots of ideas over in the 1/2a forum ...here in beginners you will mainly hear about .40 size trainers,,,not a thing wrong with that, but if you know you want to start with smaller planes,,some of us do,,there are lots of park flyers you can convert over too......Rog
