Does anyone out there have any experience with a Kyosho Calmato trainer? Is this an easy flying and fairly strudy trainer or does it merely look good? Thanks

Hey,
I have heard many good things about the Kyosho line of planes. However I don't here much bout the calmato. Besides it's going to be your trainer and won't look good forever, I suggest going with a Hobbico Superstar Or Avistar

I have the Calmato and it is probably one of the easiest trainer plane to assemble/build. Great overall quality and easy to fly (just like most other trainers). Besides the Sig LT-40 ARF (RIP), I believe the Calmato is next in line for overall high quality for price.

Hi!
The Kyosho Calmato is a very good trainer. I have helped many new flyers to fly using this airplane.
A OS .40-.46 LA and a APC 11x6 prop is perfect for this airplane...But don't get a ballbearing .40-.46....to powerfull and heavy for it!

Hi, I bought Kyosho Calmato and I've got it only for one week. I'm real beginner - no experiences with RC planes and I was so surprised how easy is to build this ARF one. I ordered model with GX.40, this is the best value for Kyosho's one as model is only 2500g weight. All i needed to build model was glue. All other tools I had and I think everybody won't neeed more. You need only screw driver, knife and pincers.

I learnt on this plane and i still take it out now and then its such a fun plane to fly..
The instructor i had said it was the best ever trainer he had ever flowen, and hes been in it for ages.
Plus it is abit stronger than some of the trainers out there ,so it should last you a while..
The only problem i had was some of the trim comming off of the wings..
