I just bought a Hobbico superstar 40. I know this is a stupid question but can someone tell me how to mount the rx wire to the rudder. I believe that is the best way. The instructions say something about using a rubber band. Any advice would be greatly appreciated.

I would use a "standard" (approx. 1/8" wide) rubberband. Lay the antenna wire across the rubberband. Put one loop of the band into the other half loop to make a "hitch" around the wire. (Did I explain that OK??). Slip the remaining big loop of the band over the vert fin, between fin and rudder. Adjust the location of the hitch so it's not too tight/loose.

You don't want to loop a rubber band over the fin. Do like EXCAP232 suggested. Just stick a T-pin in the top of the fin at an angle, and hook the rubber band to it. You can use a #64, the same that you would use on the wing. Don't tension it tightly.

Yup, the T-pin would be better, but if there happens to be a big enough gap (may not be if it's made right!) between fin and rudder, slipping it over the fin works OK.

I cut a servo horn and run the wire through the rubber ban and then through the servo horn end. I think pin the horn to the rudder. I have been doing this for as long as I have been flying and it has worked great. It keeps the pin from coming in contact with the wire.

in addition, make sure the wire is not tight where it comes out of fuselage and pulling on the reciever. Use a cut servo horn as Geistware suggested and put it on the antenna inside the fuselage where the antenna comes out....this will take any strain off of it.

Where the antena exits the fusalage drill a 1/4 inch hole and cement a piece of fuel tubing into the hole with about one inch of the tubing outside of the plane. Thread your ant wire through the tubing. This will prevent any rubbing on the antena from the edge of the fuselage and also offer some flexibility as a strain releaf
