I started out with an OS .46LA. I was very disappointed in it's performance. The LA series from OS is their low price line, and delivers low end performance. I now have an OS .50SX in mine. I am very happy with the way it performs. I've seen others flying with Saito .72 four strokes with good results too. The OS .46AX would be a good choice as well. I don't have experience with other brands, but would venture that a ball bearing .46 from most companies would be ok.

The Thundr Tiger 46 pro is a great, inexpensive engine, that you can run pretty much out of the box. I've had many of them and after only a few tanks flying slightly rich, they are broken in, start easily, and require little tuning at all. OS makes good engines as well, but they are a little pricier. Either of these would be fine, but i would stay away from the LA series of OS. For that plane, almost any 46 would work fine, but those two brands are easily available and very reliable. Have fun!

I'm building a 4* kit right now and thinking of getting the TT .46 Pro rather than the OS .46 AX since it's cheaper.
I've read many posts about this TT engine and knowing that it's very reliable but I still don't know how hard it is to break in the engine. Would anyone with break-in experience this engine give me some tips?
Thanks in advance!

I have the 4* 40 TTpro.46 combo. It's great! I couldn't be happier with the combo. As far as the TTpro... It's been an awesome engine. Easy to break-in, start, and it screams. I feel that my TTpro46 has more power than my OS 46fx.
