Default New flyer/New Plane question...

Ok, so I am a super newbie, and I just bought a new plane off E-bay (haven't got it yet), it was really cheap, so I don't expect much from it, but it only cost me $10.50US... It's a super sonic RTF, I was just wondering if anyone is familiar with this plane and what I should expect, I'm just not willing to spend a ton of money yet! Someday I would like to build a jet with the real mini turbines, but I need to start small. I downloaded a couple vids and those suckers haul!! Anyway, here are a couple pics, your thoughts??[image

I'm not familiar with that exact plane, but generally that type of plane will need to be flown on very calm days. Welcome to the hobby. This is OK to start. But don't get discouraged if it doesn't fly well. For the price, you may be able to have a lot of fun. When your budget gets to about $250 or $300, you can try a larger trainer plane that is guaranteed to fly well.

this is what i would call a thrust plane,no moveable surfaces ie; rud, elv, aile, basicaly the twin motors is the only thing that
makes this model manuver.

Ya, I know, I'm not expecting much, but I think I'll still have some fun... I know when I get some cash i'll buy a good 4 channed radio and a ARTF or something....And it does describe the plane being only controlled by the speed of the motors. What can you expect for $10? (retail is about $70US normally I guess) That's cool with me to start with...I seem to get addicted to this type of stuff, plus I am back at school taking first year university physics, so it will be cool to apply some of that to R/C plane (and hopefully jet) building.

It looks like the rudder might be operational too.

I've got the Angell. It's pretty much the same though. Like the other boys said, only fly in winds up to about 3mph.

I took mine off the ground into a 5mph wind and it went into a vertical climb, stalled and crashed. There are no controls to pull the plane out of a dive, so try to keep it level. I suggest you dont use full power unless you wand to climb.

Ha, well like I said, I am just "messing around" right now... Apparently the plane has a self-righting feature where you are out of control, you just let go of the sticks and it rights itself... Anyway, going by the web-writup (which could be an outright lie) they thought the plane was quite resilient, they crashed it like a lawn dart and picked it up and flew right away. If this is true, that sounds pretty good, but ya I know the wind thing will be an issue!!
