Default Basic question about banana clips

I'm going to replace some aligator clips with some banana clips......and well? I'm not seeing how to connect them. I assume they are to be soldered and not crimped.....will somebody give me a quick lesson? I'll appreciate it!

there are crimped, soldered, and screw type bananna clips, so it all depends on what kind you bought.

Radio Shack, or by mail order from electronic parts suppliers.. www.digikey.com , www.mouser.com , www.jameco.com . Unless you want a bunch it will be cheaper to go to Radio Shack.

I get mine from radio shack cuz there handy, I prefer the solder on kind. Strip and tin the wire. place the plastic handle portion over the wire I use a alligator clip to hold the business end of the plug place the tined wire into the the plug and heat and solder it in. Use rosin core solder.

I am not familiar with the radio shack babana jacks. But sullivan makes some nice heavy duty ones you might look at.
