ONE DAY FROM START TO SOLO !!
SCIENCEISCOOL went out for this first full day of flying today. He first was sent SOLO on the takeoff maneuver after having done three consecutive take-offs....following some good precise flying and alignements with the runway, on the third complete flight of the day he began to shoot "high" landings eventually touching down and completed three perfect landings with touch and goes and eventually his final to a stop LANDING..
HE SOLOed on this his FIRST DAY of flying.
The 'conditions" of weather and wind were FAR from ideal. The wind was high, steady at 7 to 10 mph and gusting with cross winds.
ANALYZING this performance, start to solo in ONE DAY : John is a very meticulous person and thinks "ahead" and plans all his moves. He has also practiced on a FLIGHT SIM.
CONGRATULATIONS JOHN
I never thought it could be done, but LEARNING TO FLY RC IN JUST ONE DAY, "can be done"
RICK
my previous student SOLOED in just five (non consecutive) days.

Congratulations, but I bet the insides of your knees will be a little sore or bruised. Still a great feeling to accomplish this. Just keep practicing now, have fun. Be careful, complacency kills.

I guess we're one of the few ScienceIsCool, maybe its the avistar, I am self taught so I pretty much had to solo or crash on the first day. Now been flying for awhile and own several planes, A couple are set up for 3D and IMAC.

Congrats on soloing so quickly... it's a credit to your talents, and your instructor's ability. Job well done, both of you!
NewbtoRC,
Glad to see you're still with us!

Hi John, congrats. Sorry I missed it. I was at home with the kids. Rick however gave you a great report, and was very excited for you. Good luck and have fun. Stop by Scobee whenever you can...I think Rick said you would be flying at Tom Bass more often than not. Don't be a stranger.
Samalot, did you get the pictures I took of Rick and the plane he wants to send you? Good luck with that one.
Later...

Gosh, and I thought that I was hot shot when I learned in about 15 hrs (not consecutive)....that's great....Congratulations on the solo. I soloed 3 years ago sometime in march. It will be 4 years this march (of course)
BTW, I really didn't think it could be taught in one day. Just flying for that one day (if ya know what I mean!) But again, congrats, and welcome to the world or R/C!
