Default Pee Wee .020 manual and help

Hello Everyone: This is my first post on this or any other forum. I've recently found myself returning to the model airplane world after a 25 year absence. I'm easing back into it by building a little Guillow's Cessna 150. It's turning out nicely and it's good to know I've still got it I've decided to fly it free flight and power it with an .020 engine which will be a step up from my rubber power days. I eventually wish to build and fly RC models so this is a good progression. I have lined up a used engine but my problem is it doesn't come with a manual and I know very little about running these little power plants. Could someone tell me where I can find a manual for the Cox Pee Wee .020 or at least give me some info on what it takes to fire up and fly this puppy? Thanks for any help

For more detailed information post a question in the 1/2A section. There are a lot of guys who eat, breath, and sleep Cox engines.

For your setup I would say to put the prop on backwards and run it on the rich side. Now what does it mean when I say rich, right When you get your fuel, a pint bottle of Cox Racing fuel, glow plug clip and battery. For a battery I would say to use just a plain ole "D" cell. Fill the tank, prim the engine by putting a drop of fuel from the can into the exausht port of the engine. Close the needle valve and then open 2-2 1/2 turns, Attach the glow plug clip to the glow plug, If you have a spring starter on the engine turn the prop backwards 1 1/2 turns. Let go and hopefully you will get some noise out of the engine. Back to a rich setting, when you get it running you turn the needle in to adjust the mixture until you get a nice clean 2 stroke sound. You will know when you get it because it will sound like a loud scream. Then you open the needle until it sounds like it is missing a little.

When you do this make sure you have it mounted on something and not trying to hold it in your hand. Hope this helps a little. You may find a guy who will copy thier manual and send it to you.

Hey Dru: Thanks for the tips...there is a lot more to it than I thought ( I need a battery????...) But this is good, I'm very mechanically inclined and the more complicated the better I'm learning as I go and your help is much appreciated. Thanks!

That is what makes this a great place to ask questions. I also saw your post in the 1/2A section.
