combat is a number of planes with streamers attached to the tail flying in a restricted area trying to chop the other guys streamers off(a kill) or cut more of it off than they do to you.

So, you need a VERY manouverable plane, some willing pilots, and some streamer material(crepe paper I think). Also a light, powerful engine that responds to throttle quickly is a major advantage.

There are also a number of differant types of combat. Combat in 1/10th and 1/12 scale, combat for flying wings, combat with limits on engine sizes and unlimited, to name a few. These all use crepe paper streamers, usually 25 feet in length.

There are guys out there that are also flying full contact combat; essentially trying to knock each other out of the air. But they usually use EPP foam airplanes.
