Can some one tell me if you fiqure this out from the cockpit or from the front of the plane. I know in a car it is from inside the car. Need to know so I can buy a prop for engine. And we not sure who made it but we think it is 70cc and was already converted. Any help will be great. JIM

Converted to what? Counter rotation? Normal rotation is counter-clockwise as viewed from in front of the engine.

Well that is why the LEFT side of the plane (when you are seated in the cockpit) is called PORT SIDE and the RIGHT side ... STARBOARD

Ok I just have to ask this. You are talking about a gas engine, a big gas engine and you don't even know what direction the prop swings???? Now unless it was purposely set up to be different all engines turn over in the same direction and props will be be pitched for a counter rotating engine when viewed from the front of the plane, so taking all this into account why and the heck are you messing with an engine that is clearly out of your experience range?

It will not be impossible but difficult to find a pusher prop for that size engine, so getting a 24 inch propeller for that engine will be easy. I do want to caution you that if you don't know anything about gas engines for aircraft, you may want to get someone that is more knowledgable to help out. A simple mistake could land you in the hospital.

The reson I asked this a friend of mine was telling me they fiqured out the rotation on a engine from being behind it and I new it was wrong. My engine is from some type of chain saw that I know and it turns counter clockwise. I have been flying R/C for along time. I guess I used the wrong forum to post and should have worded it a little diffrent The conversion I was refering to was they alredy done the flywheel and put a prop hub on the unit. Sorry I botherd you folks. Again thanks for your answers. Wont ask again! Jim [&o]
