Hi,

Why not try something different? A flying pizza box, slope soaring, scale, oldtimers..........there are endless variations. If you are getting bored do something new and difficult. Try flying the stick in >20knot winds

Cheers,

Colin

Hi,

There isn't much that the stick won't do, (if anything) that the CAP won't do.

What about slope soaring? A foam sloapy, a headland or steep beach dune and an onshore wind is great fun IMHO.

How about building one of the old style builders kits. You won't be bored and the inability to breathe on maiden along with the adrenalin twitches entertain the peanut gallery.

You have to find what is both a challenge and satisfying for you. There are so many options what works for me mightn't work for you. I have only recently tried slope soaring and am hooked.

LOL,

Colin

I live in Florida so no hills around me ! Now i can say i though of putting some floats on my NexSTAR and flying it around the guld of mexico ! But i fear of landing it and the engine stalling ! I dont want to swim for my plane !!!......... other then that I really love flying LOW and SLOW at times , I havent got my stick to hover either and i have a BIG prop for it but im not a ace so i havent done that . hmmmm i guess maybe talking to a instructor might be my best bet, I would really love to fly in formation with other planes ! that would be the best .

A few of us also fly control line. As soon as we feel a little bored with one, we fly the other, and vise-versa.

citation10. Buy the cap, throw some lead in the tail and have fun. A profile is a nice alternative.

Most 3D planes fly a little tail heavy, it helps in the hovering a lot and other 3d stunts...

My buddy has an ultra stick with a 46.fx. I have a cap 580 with an os .70. The CAP 580 will do more than the stick. Gotten your stick to tumble yet? How about a knife edge loop?? I can get my CAP into a really really flat spin, I tried but my buddies stick wont do it!

The cap would be a great plane for you, I absolutely love mine. It has to be the best sport flier out there, hands down.

Oh and the cap 580 IS NOT a 3d plane. So "throwing lead in the tail" will not help this plane out. Balance at the manufacturers recommeded point then experiment from there after a few flights.

I was simply implying that a little lead in the tail will make ANY plane a little more "interesting" to fly. Should have included LOL.

Try some WWI scale. These aircraft were difficult to fly when full scale and the models can be dificult as well. In addition you will have to be a builder and the first flight butterflys for all of that hard work will be your thrill for a month.

A tumble: Fly straight and level at a moderate speed. Quickly hit a right positive snap (full up ele, full right rud, full right ail) As soon as a 1/4 snap, as fast as your fingers can, give full down elevator. Your plane, if the tumbling type, will yaw almost 90* whilst pleasantly rotating about the lateral axis.
Some planes even tumble without giving the quick snap first. I find the quick snap helps less tumbleworthy planes to get into a halfdecent tumble. The cap dosn't need the quick snap before the tumble command, so just put the sticks in the upper corners and have fun.
Can you tell I really like to tumble??
I will try and get a video camera out to my field soon.

Have you considered a profile? These are a lot of fun. They are much more capable than any .40-.60 size scale aerobat out there. They are quite a bit cheaper too. They offer a good introduction to kit building also. I just finished one and it was really an easy build.

This plane lacks in the waterfall department. they look like a # 6. But, that's why this plane isn't a 3d plane. But still a great one though!

You could build something that looks strange but flies really, really fast. Put a hot 46 on one of these any you will have a little demon.
