This is a link to a searchabe database of AMA chartered clubs
There are 5 with contact addresses in Sacramento and several more within 25 miles. Practically all AMA chartered clubs have instructors who will teach you for free but you do have to join AMA and the club, which can be a chunk of money. AMA is $58 per year but they do have a $20 deal for 3 months that can be converted to regular membership. Our club dues are $40 per year but I know of clubs in my area with $100+ dues plus $100+ initiation fee.
