Default How many Hinge points.......

I'm replacing the CA hinges on an airplane with Robarts Hinge Points. The alierons have 3 CA hinges per surface, should I use the same number of Hinge Points, or go with 4? Is there a hard and fast rule for the # of hinge points to use per inch of control surface, or is this just an experience thing? BTW, the plane is a 120 size warbird, so it's not going to be expected to do any (intentional) violent aerobatics, or fly (again, intentionally) very fast.

Thanks in advance,

Andy

My general rule of thumb is to duplicate whatever hinge count the orig plan calls for or 1 more. It is a kind of "feel" thing. The hinges are plenty strong. Duplicate the orig placement and then an extra close to the control horn. I use the Robarts whenever the T.E. structure permits.

depends on the size of the model, but at least 3 for any surface, and usually one every 3 inches. larger models cna get away with fewer, my 1.20 stinger has 5 or 6 on the ailerons, which span 40 inches
