What is the best method for cutting out a canopy? I have a stuka (Hobby-lobby) and I have to cut out window holes in the black canopy and then glue them it the outside of a clear plastic canoppy si it looks like the black bars holding the glass in the canopy.. Sissors dont work as I need to cut out the squares in the black canopy and with a knife if I push hard enough to get through the canopy it wants to plunge in too far and makes a mess of the entire thing. [:@]Any suggestion as to what to use that wont make me order a new canopy and try it all over again???
BTW am new to this site and so far have found a ton of very helpfull things for a very new RC'r..(one month in and I am afraid I am committed for life!!!!!!!!)

See you need guys who play RC cars a lot to teach u this ... I used to change a car body shell evey 2-3 weeks! Okay ... squares and all are easy ... use a Xacto knife to cut out the lines, you need not cut through but score is deep. Once its done then cut through an area then slowly 'tear' the portion out. This can only work with canopy material like LEXAN and NOT what you get from WM stuff, that trype will crack a lot.

Use a hobby knife you will more than likely screw it up. Too easy to slip. I have seen it and done it pleanty.
Go to the hobby store that sells rc car stuff, get a pair of lexan scissors, less than $5, and use them. You get a very clean cut, very precise and you don't slip and cut the heck out of the canopy or your fingers.
Trust me, you use a hobby knife, you will screw up as many canopies as you do successfully in most cases. There are a few that can do them well, but they are the exception.
