Hi i am very very new to R/C and i am currently trying to put togther a trainer plane ( Start 40 Evo 2 ) however the instructions that came with it are absolutely shocking.

I am trying to assemble the fuel tank stopper etc but dont know where to begin as they have left this minor but important part out.

The stopper has 4 holes 1 in the centre and 3 surrounding it. I have figured out that the three metal tubes fit into the 3 holes surrounding the centre hole and that the discs go top and bottom of the stopper small disc goes into fuel tank and big disc goes outside

How does it all secure together and whats the middle hole for and where do i fit the bit of pipe that came with it and that metal weight type thingy madige

Please please help a very frustrated newbie

Let's start with the center hole. A screw started from the outside of the cap, through the assembled stopper holds everything together and maintains an air tight tank. The weight is called a clunk and it is on the end of the fuel pick up line and terminates near, but not touching the end of the tank. The purpose of the klunk is to hold the fuel line at the low point of the tank regardless of attitude (inverted, knife edge, or upright flight).

Also, if your fuel line will be easily accessible, you will only require 2 lines. One for the pick up and the other as vent which connects to the muffler. The vent line in the tank is short and faces upward, above the fuel. Sometimes there is a little "bubble" designed into the top of the tank to accommodate the vent line.

I would recommend searching the internet and looking for an illustration of the fuel tank assemblies.

ty very much but what would the 3rd pipe be for and if i dont need it how can i seal the stopper ( 4 holes already in it?

The third line, when used, is a filler. That line would be easily accessible and negate having to remove the fuel line from the carburetor when filling the tank. Usually the holes in stopper assembly do not extend completely through the stopper and are air tight. So, if you don't use the line, there is no air leakage from the hole. When used, the small piping is pushed through the holes, thereby opening them.

If you have easy access to the carburetor, its easy to remove the fuel line, i.e., the one with the klunk on the other end, for filling. If access is a little difficult, use the third line as a filler, but you will need to plug the end after filling to prevent air intake.
