I just got word that the UPS truck has a flat tire and won't be there until tomorrow. Should have used FedEx.

bruce88123,
no flat tires. Didn't you hear that UPS went on strike again? They all just parked their trucks where they were. No more deliveries until the strike is over. At least a week or two until they come back from strike!!!

As a FedEx employee, I really like that idea.

Chad needs to spend more time on his studies anyway.

Bruce,
as somebody who had to drive from Oklahoma to Ohio to pick up $40,000 worth of parts last time that UPS went on strike I think that everybody should ship FedEx. And I second on the studies.

sagoff2004- A good start would be to look at the plans or instructions. There may be a list of additional things needed to complete the plane. Other than that, it is an esthetic thing. In other words, what looks good. I like something a little smaller than the width of the fuselage at the nose.

Say there RCKen- Doesn't UPS quit delivering at 5PM every day? Union rules, right?

hmmm, not really funny Chad. It was more like I had a network to set up, I ordered the parts, UPS went on strike, and it was either drive to Ohio to get them or lose about $15,000 because the job didn't get finished.

Bruce, now that you mention it, I think that you are quite right. I do think that they stop delivering at 5 PM. Let's see, it's 5 pm here in Oklahoma, isn't that 6 PM in Alabama?? that means the drive is already home with a cold one open.

Yep, chad will get his plane tomorrow probably(if lucky). Anyway, it's time for this little FedEx'r to go the flying field. Y'all have a good night. Chad will get a lot of studying done tonight it looks like.

BTW- FedEx has never had a strike and delivers before noon.

Bye

Everything is labeled, but i am stumped on the instructions. It says to splice together the wing panels so that the 2 indicators meet. What do they mean by this? To cut the actual plans? And the other question i was going to ask was if it would hurt to cut the plans sepreate parts and seperate them

Why not keep it all in one thread? That way it's easier to reference for you (and us) so we don't have to go through several different threads all relating to your plane.

Oh...and I know I'm a little late with this, but I couldn't resist...

Another lousy UPS driver trying to take out the competition.

Chad- try to avoid cutting up the plans. It should not be needed, maybe a little awkward at times on a small building area. Just pin it down and cover.
I imagine the 2 indicators are supposed to be on the wings themselves. This is why you are supposed to re-read the plans until you understand. Perhaps a question in the kitbuilding forum or a call/email to the mfg is in order?

MinnFlyer, you are correct in that the 4 star does not use cap strips on the wing ribs. My plans do not show two servo setup for ailerons, but mine is about 2 years old--perhaps the newer plans do. Also, Chad, Bruce is correct in advising you not to cut the plans if you can possibly avoid it--you will congratulate yourself many times over in the future if you don't and kick yourself repeatedly in the butt if you do. Sig doesn't always put their plans on a single sheet--the four star is an oddity in this respect, but deal with it. And, Chad, you are in school--your assignment for today is to look up the word "splice". It does not mean "cut". Anyway, have fun with you four star--it's a pretty easy build and a fun flyer.

I went to school today. You should post on the four star biuld thread. But i did cut the plans, so i screwed up there. All left is the fuse and tail pieces and a little bit on the wing :-D. Then the long part with sanding and finishing comes....
