Default new thunder tiger pro46 package

hello to all

I order from USA one TT pro46 engine. In package is engine, muffler, instruction, decals and set of two wrench. In little bag with wrenches is one small, abt 3mm diam. gummy o-ring. This ring is big question for me. Where I can put this o-ring or this is for spare, but for what ?

And second question is when I put engine in tdc i hear "klak". In this position I move Crankshaft cca 1mm fore and aft, but piston is stay in tdc. Is this normal ?

Thanks again

The O-ring should be an extra for the needle valve and that clank noise is the piston reaching the tight spot in the sleeve, Don't keep spinning it dry so not to damage it any, It will loosten up when it is broken in and you have some fuel through it.

When you instructor said to "run it dry," he meant for you, at the end of your flying day, to pull the fuel line and let the engine run all of the fuel out of it. You don't want an alcohol based fuel sitting in your engine. it will absorb water and can lead to rusting your bearings.

The other mention of "running it dry," was to not turn a brand new, never run, engine over a lot. You are just wearing the piston by doing this. An ABC type engine needs fuel and lubrication, as well as heat from combustion to allow the cylinder sleeve to open up to running clearance. This type of engine is supposed to have a pinch at the top when cold. When new, you like a "crunchy" feel. Tighter is better.
