Hi Guys,

I just finished my SE. I measured the CG but found it to be back from the recoomended spot 1". Instead of 3 1/2" it was 4 1/2". I really don't want to add lead to the plane unless I have to. Should I add the lead or should it fly fine?

At that CG it will be extremely touchy if not unflyable. Can you move the battery up to the fuel tank. It's been awhile but I think there is room to go above or below the tank, but don't hold me to that, as I said, it's been awhile

Look at moving your battery and receiver forward first before adding weight. You should be able to do a lot that way.

On my SE with an OS 46LA, I put the battery all the way forward under the tank and still had to put 6 oz of weight in the nose.

I was working on balancing my SE yesterday. I ended up moving the engine further out on the engine mount as well as placing the battery under the tank. With those modifications, I'm able to balance it on the recommended CG by adding 1oz on the engine mount.
