Last tusday, i was at the field with my electic eagle 400. I waas waiting for my "instrctor" to land, so i could go up. I pliged in the battery, and screwed on the wings. Then i watched the buitifull approach of my instructors cessna 182. I then turned around, and there it was, my plane smoking, and on fire.
Now i am really bumbed, becase i am 13, ANd i saved that alowance money for 6-7 months, so start off in rc with a radio, 6102, and the airplane.
The airplane was dead. Black.
i did save 1 servoe, and thankfully the reciver. But now i am grownded for a long time. Should i complane to Kokam, the company that i got my battery from, to replace it?
i have an old super dacatholn that i just built, after the crash. It is ready to fly! MY instructor gave my an esc, and a ruder servoe, so it is flable, but i don't have any batterys!. It would take about a month for me to save up for a 2 cell, 1500mah bat. Should I ask Kokam, to replace it?
thanks!

Kokam, as i understand, only makes li-poly batts.
You must be VERY VERY VERY VERY VERY VERY VERY VERY careful with these batteries, if they are ever even dropped at all, they need to be tested before use, they need to be charged ONLY on a li-poly charger designed to meet the specs of that battery....
Misuse of any kind may cause a li-poly to burn up...you should get another battery, NOT a li-poly, stay away from those untill you can afford everything you need with them, a cheap 50 dollar charger will not work for them...I watched my Stryker melt in mid-air because a had dropped the battery right before putting it in....and not thought about checking it...
And to answer your question, no, Kokam does not need to replace your battery, as it was probably related to mishandling...

build a batt pack. use some larger Ni CD or Nimh cells and wire one up. its going to be bigger and heavier, but it can be done with cells bought from walmart for maybe 20$. just a thought, ive done it with alot of cars and it worked......
Li po cells can be purchased individualy, so you could assemble a pack that way to. im not shure what you would pay per-cell, but there actualy more durable than the cells in a pack(the ones ive seen and had experience with anyway
