Default Wing joining tubes

I feel a bit foolish, but where do you find the telescoping tubes used for wing joining? I can only find the little K&S stuff. I am scratch building a plane and need about 1" dia wing tubes but cannot find them. I looked at the big hobby companies, but unless I am using the wrong terminology, they don't have them. I tried Google, but no luck. My Seagull Harrier had aluminum tubes that fit into cardboard sleeves, and that seemed to work OK, too. But where do you get this stuff.

Help please.

Thanks.
