Well,
After a month or so of buddy box instruction with my faithful Hobbico Superstar, my club instructors finally turned me loose and let my fly by myself yesterday. What a feeling!!
I managed an uneventful 10 minute flight, followed by an acceptable, if not perfect landing. I came in a little hot, and the plane floated way down the runway, but I fly at a huge grass field, so I got it down without any trouble.
RC Ken and other moderators, for what it's worth, I'd just love to have one of those solo certificates I've seen on the site. My full name is Martin Tucker, and If you could add my name to one of those, it would be the crowning touch to my r/c instruction experience.
I've dreamed about flying r/c planes since I was a kid, and now I know why. I hope to be in this hobby for years to come!!

Motormind,
Congrats on the solo. It's a great feeling. Heck, I bet you still have that silly little grin on your face!!! Don't worry about it, enjoy the feeling because you earned it.
As far as the Solo Certificate goes, your wish is my command!!!
A solo flight is a great accomplishment and that wins you one genuine RCU ATTABOY (Suitable for framing, wrapping fish, or lining trashcans).

Thanks to everyone for their comments, and Ken, thanks for the certificate. I've already printed it out!!
Chad, yeah, my Superstar is a fantastic plane. it's tough as nails and has survived many a hard landing almost without a scratch. I enjoy all of your posts. So what are you flying now?
