I did my first 2 solo flights today. I had been going to my clubs flight training program since late may. Recently, I have been able to fly an entire flight, take off to landing, on the buddy box so I talked to the club president about soloing. He made me do 3 good take offs and landings. There was little crosswind, so the takeoffs were good. I had 2 bad landings where I came up short of the runway. He made me change my landing approach and all was well. Then later, he told me I could solo. I took off, did about 5 or 6 trips around the pattern and landed. It was slightly off the runway with a small bounce. There was still fuel in the tank and daylight, so I got to go again. I did the same thing but the landing was better. It was on the runway with almost no bounce and I was able to taxi it to myself.

robflyer82,
Congratulations on your solo flight. Now the fun really begins. Put a lot of time on the trainer and refine your flying skills. Learn to approach from either end flying a rectangle. Next fly figure 8's with the intersections toward and away so you gain good orientation to the airplane. (These are flown parallel to the ground and don't have anything similar to a cuban 8 or the like).

Thanks everyone. I have a sig lt-40 that just needs the engine broken in and balancing to be flight worthy. I plan to maiden it this thursday with the help of some club members.
