Default GP Stuka flight update...

This is the first chance I had to take the Stuka out after I painted the front part of the cowl bright yellow and added Neon Yellow bands to the outer wing panels. The engine started acting up on takeoff. I knew the power just wasn't there but the plane has a big wing and it kept going and took off anyway. It flew fine, just not much speed. Landed after 5 minutes to checkout the engine. Refueled and then couldn't get it to start. The glow plug was using power but had no glow, shorted maybe?!? Replaced it and taxied out. Throttled up and the plane screamed down the runway and took off by itself in about 50 feet! Just a bit of a difference. Forgot just how fast this plane is with the engine running well and throttled back to 1/3. Lots of speed even at this throttle setting. Just for info, I am using a TH 75 engine with an APC 12-7 prop. It was getting windy but the Stuka handles it very easily and just makes whistlying noises as it cuts through the air. Turn the plane and the yellow bands light up in the sunlight and the yellow cowl is very visible. Had the plane very high a few times and the only thing I could always make out was the yellow cowl. Makes the visibility factor much improved over the grey and black. Came in to land after about 9 minutes and a wheel collar came loose and a wheel left the landing gear rolled ahead of the plane. The landing gear on that side just dragged through the grass acting like a brake bring the plane to a stop in a hurry. Having no spare wheel collars, I packed up and headed home. Still, it was nice to fly the plane again. I had forgotten how fast and smooth a flyer the plane is and how well it handles the wind.
