I honestly dont think you are going to find a decent Radio controlled plane that will fly for $50 unless you find someone VERY generous that has a used one. The cheapest you are going to find something that will actually fly is about $150 for a really cheap electric, for something decent its going to cost more like $250-300. Maybe you can look for an electric free flyer.
Perhaps someone else knows but Im betting not. Sorry.[

I think he is right. You're going to have to check the bargain finder or something like that to find a cheaper one and at that you are going to have a hard time finding one for 50.00. Good luck.

talk to some combat guys, they might sell you a cheapo motor(youll find them getting rid of some fairly worn out ones sometimes(maybe fifty for a worn one) a spad could be had for about 25$.........a radio is only about 100$ new, . your still going to need a MINIMUM of about 150$ to get into it. My advice is to get about 150 or so together before you start looking and you might find a .15 size plane apropriate for you

Well, you do have some options, but availabilty may be limited, and you just won't have as much fun but there are a few planes to look for. However, I would certainly advise spending enough to buy a full, good plane. As well as finding someone to help you learn to fly.
But, if you really can't spend more than $50 there are a few planes. I can say myself, that the FMA Direct Sksprite is a decent plane for its size. It is a very small plane with a 14'' wingspan and an odd style transmitor, but it does fly as long as there is NO wind, and it is only $35. Being an already experienced pilot, I cannot say how easy it is to learn on, but it is easy to fly, and durable, so it may be a decent choice, but keep in mind that this plane doesn't do anything spectacular, it just flies for short periods of time.
Possibly another option would a generic two engine foam planes that come with recharging stands. These are the most popular for 'sell at radioshack' type business IMO, so I wouldn't count these out, but they may turn out to be less than expected. Not sure of regional differences but these are usually in the 35-50$ range.
Remember, that these are only if you really HAVE TO only spend $50. You'll have a much better and longer lasting experience if you go with a mainstream beginning plane, and find some help to get you off the ground.

Hi,Danial, you should consider this. With your $50.00 make yourself a buisness. You could build an inexpensive glider, or possibly a rubber band motor free-flight model, then sell it...The $50.00 could be used to purchase a kit and supplies, then sold for a profit.RE-invest the money back into your company, and do this over, and over, again There is even simple plans of airplanes available for free, you`ld only need to buy only the wood and hardware..You could sell these planes as ARFs,that the person buying them, could install their own equipment into.
There is always people looking for these types of planes.By doing this you`ld be able to:
buy a good radio and reciever
an engine(COX 0.049,maybe)
a very nice airplane for yourself
a good deal of experiance
a lot of fun
ability to repair your own airplane
all the equipment needed to fly your models in the future.
Start small, and simple. As you go you`ll still be able to fly a little because you`ll need to test flight these models
.After a while you`ll have very good equipment for yourself,.These things could be sold as well, when you find that your needs are changing. Take a look at this.IT`s a thread I`ve made, for my young nephews. These kits were all about $30.00,and flew very well too, you may enjoy it ,and get more inspiration here as well!!![8D] I`m going to send you a plan here, that may help you start your company,if you choose this route. I`ll post it for you when I find it....There is a lot of very nice people, subscribed to RCU,that would like to help, in any way they can!!!

I`m sorry I can`t get the blueprint file in here but if you give me your E-mail I`ll send you an adobe pdf file that you can print out,and tape the pages together and use as a scale drawing to build on top of,and if that does not work I`ll mail a package to you the size you would like to have the plans at.I see a gentleman here has offered you an engine!!!
I told you there is some very nice people in these forums.I think this PIPER CUB WOULD BE A VERY good plane to build and learn on. Maybe some one can tell you how large a wingspan is necessary for the engine that is offered to you.PLEAse let me know if you would like more in regards to this. ....DAVID B.P.S. it would not be very difficult to build this for a glow-fuel engine or for that matter made smaller for a COX engine as well, very many possibilities for a project like this.Maybe you could build 2 of them at the same time, keep 1 for yourself and sell the other one oto get some of your money back.THESE are only suggestions for you to think about....HAVE a NICE day.D.B.

actualy, i was just thinking.....a glider might be good for you. then all you will need is a 2 channel radio, the glider and some way to launch it(maybe hand launch, or a home built band launcher.....maybe even a little short run cox motor or something)

Post this request into the Pay it Forward Thread. You never know. That thread was created by me for exactly this purpose and has resulted in many people getting complete setups for no cost, but you will need to be somewhat patient as it sometimes can be weeks until anything comes around.
Currently I know of one plane that will be ready in a few weeks but it's not a trainer.

It may take some time, but you never know
Sorry guys, been out playing with my new found toys. Been playing with Electrics and have gotten an OMP 3D buddy Edge 540, A GP Flatout Cap580 and just started assembling a Mini-Funtana.
Don't get me wrong, I still love my nice big gas/glow planes but it's nice to be able to toss a plane in the truck, my tx and a couple of batts and go fly during my lunch hour at work
