Should a OS f plug glow red when checking it outside the engine ? Is this plug ok for a Magnum 91 4stroke ? What voltage should the glow heater be at ? What plug would be optimum for this engine?

Compass1,
Yes, it should have a red-orange glow, not bright yellow or white though. An OS type F is probably your best choice for most 4 cycle glow engines. They will work ok around the range of 1.2 to 1.5 volts. A freshly charged one-cell nicad glow starter will be about 1.25 to 1.3 volts.
Hope that helps.

Be careful on glow plugs! I just found out the hard way that there are 2.0 Volt plugs out there that won't glow on a standard glow driver. [X(]
