back again! Well, im unhappy cause the plane i was gonna get isnt rtf.. basically, i want an rtf, or artf , with everything in the box. i dont want to have to go out and search for parts that might not be right for my plane. this is my first plane and im betting that ill be takin it apart and figuring out how it works, then im planning on building a plane. so.... recommendations
Im looking for a 3/4 (preferably 3) channel rc electric plane, with Elevator, Rudder, and Aileron Control. RTF or ARTF dont care as long as everything is in the box! What plane do you think would be best?
-james
thanks!
Edit:
p.s. ailerons on 1 servo would be nice... thanks

Hi
Here is a link for a RFT from tower hobbies, I wish they had these when I started flying, 18 years ago.
Good Luck and welcome to the hobby.

I think this is what you're looking for, lets make sure it covers all the bases:
-Electric
-4-channels (has ailerons AND rudder)
-RTF
-comes with a Futaba radio installed (dont need to worry about finding servos and reciever, already installed)
-has pushrods, comes with landing gear
-comes with battery
-has instruction manual as just about any plane does
-whole bunch of other cool stuff
http://www2.towerhobbies.com/cgi-bin...I=LXJKU3**&P=0
Let us know if this is satisfactory! [8D]
Edit: I noticed you said that you'd prefer a 3-channel but without rudder. There is a 3-channel version of this plane, but its rudder only. I would recommend starting with a 4-channel. Rudder in the R/C world is under-rated....my instructor taught me to use rudder and I have become an excellent pilot as a result. Dont cheat yourself; learn to use rudder.

Geez! A PERFECT plane, but its a bit more than i wanted to spend. I guess i wont really find what im looking for for under 100 bucks. Maybe i should stick to just rudder? Can you make a plane roll with rudder, not like, do a 360 roll, i mean like, roll, yaw, pitch. As far as i see rudder just will make the plane yaw. .Hmm... comments plz.

actually! http://www2.towerhobbies.com/cgi-bin...?&I=LXGVZ3&P=0 is also perfect, it has ailerons, rudder, and elevator, just no throttle, im perfectly fine with that, but id have to buy servos, how much would they cost??
thanks.

Actually, this plane does have throttle.
Glow-engine powered planes of this kind need a 4th servo to control the throttle. Since this plane is electric, it uses an ESC (Electronic Speed Control) which plugs into the battery, reciever, and motor and acts as a throttle for the electric motor, controlling the amount of current to the motor, therefore changing the power output, which in effect is a throttle. [8D]
You'd need more than servos to get this one flying: You'd need 3 servos, a reciever, ESC, and transmitter if you dont already have one. The RTF version has all of this put together in the bundle, so you dont have to hunting to buy the individual components, and it will be cheaper than buying everything seperately. Also, is has the required parts, so you wont have to worry about buying the right or wrong thing: what comes in the RTF pack is right for the plane.
If you DO already have a transmitter, it MIGHT be cheaper to go the individual-buying-of-pieces route, but if you dont, nothing really can beat the RTF.
