Default A great day of flying

Hello Everyone,

I just wanted to share my excitement concerning my whopping fifth time out flying with my instructor..ha ha. Earlier times out were a bit annoying due to trimming out the plane, having the wing come off my original plane the second time out and one my landing gear legs coming out mid flight on the third flight. Other than that my Nexstar has done ok....!

ANYWAY, in total so far I have taken off and landed the plane fifteen times. The past five or six flights were essentially solo with my instructor on the box just in case it looked dire. After sticking a few loops and rolls my fourth time out, this past Saturday on my fifth time out I was pulling off loops, Immelmans (sp?) and a good deal of flying inverted. I think my favorite part of the flying was when I was actually making my instructor nervous while I sat there and smiled....good fun....any real "hairy" situation I got out of myself. I think the simulator has helped considerably with flying inverted and most of all, reverse direction. There is a considerable difference between real flight and the "Real flight" simulator from my experience. Not too long ago I went out and purchased the G3 Sim which has given me the simulated feel of many aircraft which in turn has helped me in the air with mine.

I had so much fun that I find myself obsessing about it really. Is this the addiction that everyone here is referring to? Being 34 and no longer one that is going out and hitting the bars, what else is there to do with my time? Fly I guess!

I look forward to the next time out and to my "test" soon enough to earn my wings. It is great to get involved in a hobby that involves so many people of different ages and backgrounds.

Anyway, that's my 2 cents on this Monday!

Brad,

Yep, you just described the addiction perfectly. Now go get a bigger limit on your credit card and just hand it over to either you local hobby shop or Tower Hobbies. It saves lots of time and can be WAY more expensive than bars and just as expensive as women.
