Default Top Rudder?

To All,

What is meant by the term Top Rudder, as in "give it top rudder"?

I find this term used in context with manuevers such as the knife edge.

Thanks for any info!

Let's say you have rolled your plane to the left for a knife edge, you want to apply rudder to the top of the knife edge, top rudder which would be right rudder.

Default Ditto...

GrnBrt is correct. Just imagine that you are the pilot inside the plane. In GrnBrts example, the top of the plane is the right side (right wing is pointing skyward) - hence top rudder in that example is right rudder.

And if you continue to roll another 180 degrees, the left wing is pointing up so left rudder becomes top rudder.
