Default Attaboy me, Ken!

What a beautiful day we had here in Oklahoma City. Made arrangements to meet one of our club instructors today at the field. The only problem with the weather was a little bit of a cross wind.

Anyway, he forgot the buddy box, so we decided to throw the Tx around when needed.

Well, after several take-offs and touch and goes (and getting a little close to a group of trees), I brought here in. taxied back to the pits to refuel, when the instructor walks up, shakes my hand, and congratulates me on my first solo. I didn't even realize what I had done! It took a while to sink in.

We continued several more solos, all the while giving me great advice, tips, and words of wisom.

So.....

HOW ABOUT AN ATTABOY!!!!

P.s. You guys weren't kidding when you say those LT-40's just wanna keep flying! Even at idle, they just keep floating!

Septic_Shock,
I know exactly how nice your day was today, because we had the same day down here in Lawton. I don't know why but we had a small crowd at the field. Oh well, more flying time for me. I had 2 planes and I got 5 flights on each of em!!!!

Ok, enough about me. Great job on the solo flight. Let me guess, you're sitting at home right now with that silly little grin still on your face aren't you?? Don't worry, I had that smile for 3 weeks.

A solo flight is a great accomplishment and that wins you one genuine RCU ATTABOY (Suitable for framing, wrapping fish, or lining trashcans).

Ken

MAN!! I thought it was just our field that was bare today! I was the only soul flying today, until a guy came out and maidened his new Midwest CAP. He was there about an hour, then left and I had it all to myself the rest of the day![X(][X(]

CONGRATS on the solo, Scott! Feels good, doesn't it?

I hate being weather-locked. ITs raining tonight, and might change my plans for tomorrows flight sessions.

We had a pretty nice group out there today. After my instructor left, I was so pumped that I made the decision to pack her up. Yah, I should of went up a few more times, but I didn't want to push my luck too much!

Now about that Hanger 9 P-40........

(Just kidding, I am planning ALOT of stick time with the ol' LT-40, but a man needs goals, right?)

OUTSTANDING! As one that bore witness to SS's accomplishment, let me say, I was almost jealous. Yes, there was a cross wind, but he handled it very well. specally with that "Hershey Bar" Kadet LT 40 wing! The last landing he made, I swear was a harrier! Steep, yet slow and controlled, about 35 degree angle, and get this, no bounce! Somewhere during this evolution, his instructor related to me,"I think hes gonna solo today". I was ready to go get the Champagne bottle to crack over his head! (then I got corrected that it was BOATS, not newly soloed RC PILOTS). Congrats SS. See ya at TORKS, Westside, Baxter, Guthrie, Elk City, El Reno and all the other fields we (will) fly.

(Oh and if ya cant get people to understand that silly grin that wont go away, tell em its Botox)!
