Default Wing recovering

Hello,

I have a thunder tiger windstar 2m sailplane which I have had for years and hardly ever used. Reciently though I decided to start flying it. I have had reasonable success so far but one thing I would like to do is to recover the wing if at all possible. The wing has been damaged in storage. It has a hole in the covering which at the moment is covered by tape and I think part of the rear of the wing has broken (can feel movement).

1. Is it possible to recover this type of plane (ARTF)? The covering seems very sticky as if it would pull all the balsa apart.

2. What to use to replace the covering?

Thanks,

Slowly peel the old covering off. A heat gun might help in this. Clean and repair the framework. Recover. My personal favorite covering is Ultracote.

Ditto to what DR1 said.

Here is a short "How To" on covering:

Hello,

Wow...youre the first person Ive met that has this plane to... Question...how do you have youre elevator set up? Is the throw set slightly up in the servos nuetral position? Or is there no throw when the servo is at 0? I replaced a bent control rod on it and dont remember how its supposed to be...

Also..is it the motorized verion or unpowered?

When my servo is i neutral position, the elevator is flat. I'm probably not the best person to ask because i'm a beginner but I think my servo's are set up OK.

Mine is the unpowered version.

Helloo,I`m very new to the forum thing!

But I do have a Thunder tiger windstar, I can`t tell you much about the servo`s 'because i never realy got to fly mine after my freind crashed it on it`s first flight (many years ago)! Since then it`s been moved around a vew different houses and even brought it to Holland where i`m now based.
Not so long ago i pulled my ''Tiger''out from under the spider webs to see if it was re-buildable, when to my horror i discovered that the wings (which were broken) had been thrown out by my nearest and dearest. I`d like to make a new set but i don`t have the specs/plans or drawings or sizes.Kan anyone help me???

Greetings.........from a wingless windstar
