Default Super Tigre G2300

I'd read the review of the World Model Mustang Miss America with the Super Tigre G2300 engine. Both are having positive comments. What I'm more interested is the engine. Is it a good engine? considering the price is about 3-4 times cheaper than the O.S 1.40. I would like to hear some honest comments from all of you?
Regards,
Bemyself

I'm flying an Extreme Flight Yak 54, (the 68" version), with one and I am having very good luck with it. It is very important that if you are using a Pitts style muffler that you plug one of the outlets. If you read the tech notes on Tower it states this as well. I am running an 18X8 prop and it has PLENTY of power. I fly at 2800 ft. ASL and 5800 ft. ASL, (depending on the weather), and the engine is easy to tune and maintain at both elevations. You may notice a little more vibration with this motor, (all my Super Tigre's have a little vibration), but all in all I feel it is worth it. I figured it was better to put a little more money into better servos than pay $300 to $400 for a comparable powered engine.

T.

P.S. I hope the YS guys don't spit on me for this...

Got to agree totally with TSawyer on this. I have several of these great, reliable, inexpensive engines. I am using one a Cermark Pitts byplane with a Pitts muffler, one side sealed with JB Weld and a small hole drilled for drainage. This allows the aftermarket muffler to build enough back pressure on the fuel tank to feed the engine at low throttle settings. The other one I have on a FunWorld 3D 120 with a stock muffler. I am using an APC 17X6 prop on both planes and like the instant throttle response running Power Master 5% nitro fuel. One thing the manual does not mention is that you can adjust midrange on a SuperTigre engine by moving the fuel nipple around to change the angle on the spray bar. At my altitude (about 880 FASL) setting the fuel inlet nipple so it is pointing down towards the rear engine mounting hole on the crankcase, seems to work best. I also have a wonderful OS 1.60 FX that costs much more than the SuperTigre. The ST2300 almost has as much power as the OS on the same fuel. If you have any further set up questions on the 2300, feel free to send me a private message.

Have a great Thanksgiving!!
