Anyone know a reliable source for a FMS interface cable (radio to 'puter)? I need one for a Futaba 6EXA. I've seen lots of links, half are dead though and I'm not sure who to go through. There was a guy, Matt, I think selling them for $18 awhile ago but his links are dead now.
Thanks!
Thanks!

Unfortunately that won't work. I don't see one for the Futaba radios. Thats the exact item I need though, just wrong plug. The Futaba 6EXA has a mini rectangular plug. Thanks though.

Kind of expensive IMO for that particular cable, but I have bought stuff from Toms Sim before, and it always arrives very quick!

$54? Geez that is pricey. Thats 1/4 the price of G3! I think that guys taking advantage just a little bit. But yes, that is exactly what I need. [:@]

You are right, and I thought it was pretty pricey as well! You can buy the G2 off the various auction sites for around $125 now, and the G2 interface will also run the FMS. I am not sure whether the G3 Interface will run the FMS or not, but my guess would be that it would.

I bet if you could find the parts and a schematic diagram ,a person could make one for $10-$15.00.A trainer cord is $20.00 out here .There`s ,2 sguare ends right there, if you cut the cord in 1/2,but I think theres some resistors involved.Need a schematic to figure it out

Yeah, I'd rather spend the extra $75 and get G2, doesn't that get you a controller (radio) with it?

I looked everywhere for that cable and I cant find it. I thinnk I might have tossed it when I got my reflex sim. Try this. Go look on e bay for FMS and also look up TOMS RC SIMULATOR STORE, He sells them I looked at them all and I didnt see one for the new square plug. However. I have talked to Tom on the phone and he is a very nice guy. He might build one for you.
Sorry Santa failed.

Yeah, we were looking at ths earlier in the thread (check up top), we found out they want $54 for it. I swear these things used to be $18. FMS is ok, but if I'm gonna spend the money, I'd rather get G2 for another $50. Theres one on there now for $93 with 27 minuted left.

Thanks for the update. All I see for sale though is a lost plane locator. I don't see any usb interface plugs.

From: cincinnati, OH,
Matts home page is still advertizing FMS interfaces. It looks like it got lost from the shopping cart, when setting up his new page. Send him an e mail I'm sure he'll be able to help. I, and several of my friends have been happy with interfaces purchased from him.

If you really want G3, Tower hobbies has a $25 rebate and $20 off of a $200 order. Without shipping that would put you around $ 160.00. Tom's FMS cable has been $54 for 3 - 4 years. FMS is nice, that is what I first had. Picked up 2nd. hand G2 and was glad that I didn't spend 1/4 of full price. At $54 dollars it almost makes sense to buy a buddy box with the round Futaba connector, and the cheap $20 FMS cable!

I purchased a USB cable from Dennis Koroluk in town. He also has PIC serial cables, I upgraded from this cable. Works great with FMS, Easyfly and Reality Craft simulators. There is no such thing as a cheap cable. One schematic used a printer port. Still needed $35.00 worth of parts. Dennis's work great, no glitches. Check out his website. http://www.rc-circuits.com

I got my CABLE solutin HERE ,with Dennis.HE responded to my Email right away, and answered my Questions. He gave me information to the cables, that I could use, to do, what I wanted.HE suggested, 3 possible choices ,and explanation to which cable, will do/work, with what/which, programs/simulators .I picked,Cable #3 ,from his detailed recommendations.HERE`s his description for My Futaba 7CHP,from his email to me.I`m sold
"USB Joystick interface for FMS, Realflight, Preflight, EasyFly, etc.
or any sim that uses a joystick for input.
This connects to your radio trainer jack and to your computer usb port. This
will work with Windows that support usb. Windows 95 & NT will not work. Cost
is $55."
I think anyone looking for a cable should give him an Email and ask him for what you need.Real Quick service there.I just need to get that cable in my hand ,and download the free FMS
THANKS again JPurcha.Your tip helped ME out. BIG Time
