Default Buddy box help

This is really a simple question, but does anyone know if this radio (Futaba 4YF 4-Channel ) is compatible with Futaba Trainer Box FM. I currently have the 4 channel radio and my brother wants to learn to fly so this would be a christmas gift. I dont know if u can see in teh picture but in the 4 channel radio u can see their is a trainer toggle switch (top left) same on the buddy box.I am just not sure. Thanks.

I see no picture... But I believe any Futaba radio will work with their trainer box..
You just have to make sure you get the right cord to connect both... The newer
Futaba radio's come with a square plug, while the older ones have the round plug.
Bit either case they should work... You use the trainer switch on the main radio
to activate the sticks on the trainer box.....

Your question is answered here:

http://www.futaba-rc.com/faq/faq-training.html#q693

BTW the answer is: YES

You will need a cord with the proper connector on each end though.

Tower Hobbies has the cords in all three plug configurations you might need. As stated above the new stuff has a small square plug port & the older ones have a bigger round port. They have the cord in round to round, sqare to sqare, & square to round. I know because I had to find the sqare to round cord to get started, as I was using a new Tower radio & an older Futaba. I found it @ Tower for $9.99 I believe. Good luck
