Hey all,
I am new to the forum, actually my first post. I started flying in October and have become addicted. I went out to the local club one day, the next day I had the simulator, 2 weeks later I bought the Tiger Stick, and a month later I was up by myself. Now I would like to buy another plane, but I am not sure which one. I would like something that is nice looking. The Tiger Stick flys very nice, but isn't the best looking of planes. Any suggestions? Also, the plane needs to be something that I can fly, seeing that I have only been flying for a couple months. Well hope to hear from you all soon. I am looking forward to the forum talks.

Lots of people fly Sig four stars for second planes. Nice looking plane, and can be tame, yet can do most aerobatic moves. Cubs would make a nice second plane (although they require a little more rudder input while flying), Goldberg makes a nice cub arf. There is the Phoenix Dolphin ARF similar lines to the sig 4 *. So many choices really. Have you narrowed it down at all?? Find some planes you like and let us know, we can then advise you of their flying charicteristics. In the meantime keep flying what you have, sounds like your doing great!

I think a Cub maybe too much for you right now. I think a 4 Star 40 or 60 would work, or a Goldberg tiger 2 If you've ever wanted to fly war birds go with the 4 Star series as they are tail draggers.
good luck have fun

I appreciate all your feedback. I was told also about the spacewalker, which is the plane that I was looking at. I have not bought it yet though. What do you all think?

Are you flying your tiger stick as a tail dragger or trike? If trike then switch it out to Tail dragger and fly it some more
If your already flying it tail dragger ask yourself this question... can I do any better with this plane? if your greasing your landings EVERY time(ok almost every time
), keep it tracking straight down the runway during take off and can do ALL the basic aerobatics with it your ready to move up... in this case a 4* would be a very small step up... the tiger II would be a bit more... personally I think you would be ready for something like the spacewalker. The seagull arf spacewalker fly's VERY nice with no real bad habits on the ground or in the air... it will take a bit more skill to handle than your tiger stick set up as tail dragger BUT not that much more. You seem to be looking for something that looks like a real plane(scale) the spacewalker fits the bill and makes a good 3rd plane... yeah it's only your 2nd BUT you you started out with a 2nd plane
Good luck with what ever you choose

Let me add one more to the mix. My second was a Goldberg Tiger 60 with an OS61SF. Nice combination and a very nice after-trainer easy to fly yet capable aircraft. I like it over the 40's because it is larger and easier to see those subtle changes made during flight and landing.. see the aircraft doing what you input at touchdown is a neat for a newby. Can easily be converted to a tail dragger if so inclined.

I'll throw one more in the mix for you to look at just because I think she's soooo purty! I think she is very similar to the 4* only better looking. I may be wrong because I too am still a rookie RC pilot
But I'm gonna find out soon enough cause it's what Santa brought me. It is the Dragon Lady 60-90. RcKen commented that he flew one & it is an excellent flier, & that if they offered it in a kit he would buy one in a heartbeat! I will put up a link for you to look at if you're interested. It is a larger plane that would require buying another engine, it is however very affordable as an ARF. Hobby people list it for $169, they had it on sale last week for $149. I don't know if that price is still good or not, but I found it at the LHS for $159 so either way it's not too expensive. If you planned to use your engine from your stick then obviously you will want to stick with the .40-.46 size like Minn suggested. Good luck in your decision making process, hhhm! so many planes, so little time!lol

I test flew a Seagull Spacewalker for a friend of mine last summer and I thought it flew great! It flew better than my 4 Star 40 (which is a little heavy due to repairs). Tracked very well on the take-off, smooth mellow flight, and a slow float to landing. It was his third plane and he has had no problems flying it.[8D]

I wanna say thanks for all your feedback. In reply if I had set my stick as a tail dragger, answer is yes. I am not sticking my landings perfectly everytime, but 90 percent of the time I am. I have been practicing on the simulator G3 with the spacewalker and I am doing pretty good with it.
Thanks for your feedback.
