Default GWS spitfire

need some help,what is a good upgrade from the stock 300 gear drive.I dont want to be a slow flyer,i still plan to use my 8 cell nimh pack but im not sure what motor set up to use i.e. 400 direct drive or gear drive,what gear ratio,prop,and so on any help would be appreciated , thanks

Go brushless ... try a nice China made Himax 2015/2025 clone with gear box. You will enjoy it. Also you can go for one of those CDROM style outrunners, one that can handle a 9x6 prop. All that runs well on lipoly 3S. I had one Spitfire, I used 3S lipoly and it was good enough, I did not go brushless.

Himax outrunner 2812-1080 works really well and has lots of power. APC 10x7 slow fly
