If you are asking about physical size, I don't know. If you're asking about displacement, yes, a .46 is larger than a .40. These numbers represent the engine's displacement in cubic inches. Note that displacement is only loosely related to power. While in general, engines with a larger displacement will have more power, there are many different levels of engines. It's not hard to find a .46 engine that has more power than a larger .61 engine. However, the .46 will most likely cost more money.

ASP has been making engines for a number of years. The original ones wern't very reliable but I have to give them credit, they do keep trying improved versions. The latest version is called "Super Series". I have a 52 size and its a little touchy to adjust but turns the prop scary fast once its set.
